Joe Doyle is a champion breeder of budgerigars from Rhymney in Gwent

who has recently returned to the hobby after a very brief spell away.

Joe joined the heads of the valleys B.S. around 1990 shortly after moving to Wales from High Wycombe , Buckinghamshire, he has been a valuable member ever since and has been treasurer since about the year 2000.

Whilst living in  High Wycombe ,Joe kept and successfully showed foreign finch’s and a few canary’s, but after a friend gave him a few Budgies he thought it would be best to concentrate on one species and decided on the budgies.

Although Joe keeps most variety’s he does admit he would love to establish a good line of grey greens or light greens.

At the time of writing (2017) Joe is only in his second year back and already looking forward to replicating his past success in the bird room as well as on the show bench. But more than anything he would like to see all members of the Heads of the valleys club do well around the shows.

Joe has many years of experience in budgie keeping, breeding and exhibiting, and enjoys sharing his wealth of expert knowledge with others.
